Kee Guard® Non-Penetrating Rooftop Guardrail for Ladder Access Points
Kee Guard® Rooftop Guardrail for Ladder Access Points provides a non-penetrating fall protection solution for a safety railing that is designed to protect workers when using a fixed ladder as they enter and exit the rooftop.
Rooftop Guardrail Protection at a Dangerous Transition
One of the most dangerous points of the roof is the transition point between the roof and the ladder. The Kee Guard® access kit provides a layer of fall protection right where it's needed. The guard railing flanks the access point, ensuring a safe approach. Kee Gate® is a self-closing safety gate that ensures that the ladder access point is approached intentionally. The surrounding supports of the safety railing ensures that there is plenty of support when making the transition on and off the roof. Kee Guard offers a comprehensive safety guardrail solution that works well with Kee Guard Access Ladder Kit.
There is no welding needed on-site, which means it can be installed with basic tools. Plus the components can be adapted to meet the unique design requirements of non-standard roof applications. Works well with a Kee Safety railing.
Safety Railing Roof Edge Protection
On a flat or low slope roof, a protected perimeter limits access to the leading edge. Installing a modular, free-standing safety railing system that does not penetrate the roof membrane provides a permanent, safe and dependable safety guardrail barrier for the roof edge.
Simple Rooftop Guardrail Solution
Instead of having to re-think each access point, Kee Guard® provides you with a quick way to deploy a workable safety rail solution to a wide variety of rooftop environments.
The kit is easy to install with a few simple hand tools, in most cases, no roof penetration is required.
Multiple connection types
Kee Guard® can attach to flat, trapezoidal and standing steam roofs.
Exceeds BS, EN and OSHA standards for fall protection guardrails.
All iron fittings are galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 so the system will last for years without corrosion.
No. EN 14122 states that: “To prevent falling through the access opening at arrival areas the opening shall be provided with a gate. It also states that at “drop edges of arrival areas”, a Guardrail should be provided at least 1.5m either side of the ladder, or if the drop edge is less than 3m in length, then one should protect the entire edge.
No. OSHA no longer considers chains to be an effective fall protection solution. The reason for this is simple – standing on a ladder and reattaching the chain during roof egress while maintaining 3 points of contact on the ladder is a dangerous activity with fatal potential.
The gate on Kee Guard Rooftop Guardrail for Ladder Access Points is attached to the railing and not the ladder. This enables you to transition onto the roof and push through the gate with your body – no hands needed!
