Gilbert and Goode are currently building 31 ‘BREEAM Outstanding’ extra-care apartments in St Austell, using the latest green technology and innovative design to set new standards of accommodation for older residents.
This building, which is being built for Ocean Housing in Partnership with Cornwall Council, is the only eco-communities project underway in the UK and has been designed to showcase examples of low carbon living in the area through the use of green technologies.
Kee Safety’s UK fall protection partner, Building Access Solutions Ltd, designed and installed the roof safety systems, comprising combination of KEELINE for Roofs, KEELINE for POSTANKA, KEE WALK and Type 3 POSTANKA’s.
KEE WALK is a modular roof walkway system, easily adjustable on site for multiple roof types, offering firm under foot, safe and designated roof access, designed and manufactured to BS EN 516:2006 and for this project was combined with Kee Safety’s type 3 POSTANKA roof anchors, allowing the KEE WALK and KEELINE systems to be clamped back the buildings internal roof beams.
POSTANKA is a range of hot dip galvanised, traditional through fix anchors, designed using a calculation program to provide anchors that meet the loading requirements of BS EN795 class A2 anchors to provide a specific solution dependant on the customer’s requirements, the ‘type 3’ POSTANKA design also features an adjustable pedestal to accommodate on site variations.
